Draughting Research
I looked at The Workwoman's Guide by Lady, 1840. From this I found how things as simple as measurements have changed over the years. The spelling of trousers has also changed- which threw me off until I found out what is meant.
I also found from this book that basic block patterns are still very similar, even if the wording has changed.
Draughting the Basic Blocks
I had to do this in isolation but this was such a learning experience for me. Tiring and frustrating at points, but interesting nonetheless.
Making the Basic Blocks
This process really put my sewing and patience to the test. All my sewing skills are self-taught, so I enjoyed learning professional terms and methods.
