Garment Bag
The garment bag was a quick side project which aimed to improve both my design and construction skills. The project also encouraged sustainability. To achieve this, my fabric was an old duvet cover and my drawstring closure was the strap of an old bag.
I started the project by designing my garment bag. This is an initial ideas, 5 minute, rough sketch.
After my initial sketch, I got my fabric and cut out the bag from the pattern that I had already constructed.
This is my complete garment bag. I'm happy with it. I attempted to pattern match my pocket, and I think I was very close. Overall with this project, I wished that we had more guidance and teaching. I didn't learn anything new and was essentially left to myself to just sew the bag! Furthermore, I would've liked more time so I could've made a more elaborate bag.
