Dye

Shibori
We were given fabric and chemical dyes to do Shibori dyes over the Christmas holiday. I really enjoyed the process but was disappointed with the result of my samples.

Natural Dyes
I really enjoyed doing these dye samples. They were easy and extremely effective dyes. I was surprised how easily manipulated the red cabbage could be by adding an acid or alkali. I was also surprised by how well onion skins took to the fabric as I was very sceptical of it at first. I noted that onion skins could be a useful dye if I ever wanted to age or break down a fabric for a costume. My favourite is definitely the turmeric as the yellow colour is so bright and vibrant and can only be described as pure sunshine.

Rust Dyes
This was my least favourite of the dyes. I tried everything I could to make it successful but couldn't find which variable was making the rust not transfer. So, unfortunately I couldn't make this technique work for me.
